Information for Families

Our optional winter recital takes place in December, it's a wonderful mid-year opportunity for your dancer to perform on the stage. This is a lower cost performance and shorter program that is fun for the whole family!

Although dancers won't start learning their dances until October, our team is already starting to plan for it. Please take a moment to read through the recital details carefully below!

Recital Fees and Extra Costs

  • All recital fees are nonrefundable for any reason

  • Payment Schedule: All families will be charged $50 per dancer upon registration. The winter recital fee of $100 will be split into two equal payments on September 15th and October 15th.

  • Fees: To participate in our winter recital, both a recital fee and a dancer registration fee are due. Our recital fee is per family (not per dancer) and is mandatory. This $100 fee covers the cost of all rehearsals, any necessary alterations, digital recordings of the show, and other production costs associated with our recital. The $50 registration fee covers the cost of each dancer's commemorative t-shirt and their accessory rental fee. The registration fee will increase to $75 for any dancers registering after September 6th.

  • Recital Tickets: Recital tickets will be sold online only beginning in November. The date and time that the ticket sales will open is above. Tickets will be $10-20 (plus taxes/fees) based on location in the venue. You will need separate tickets for every family member sitting in the audience (excluding lap children). Performing dancers will not need a ticket as they will remain backstage until the final bow.

  • Recital T-Shirt: Each dancer will receive a commemorative t-shirt with our recital design on the front and the names of all dancers participating in recital on the back. This shirt will be worn during our final bow.

  • Tuition: Your account must be paid in full by December 10th in order for your dancer to participate in both dress rehearsal and recital.

Recital Details

  • Casting Call: All dancers must attend the Casting Call on Saturday, September 7th at our World Golf Village location. Call times will be between 12 and 4pm. Specific call times will be emailed on August 31st. At the Casting Call, dancers will arrive in their usual class dress code and bring all their dance shoes. Through dance and discussion, our instructors will determine the best fit for each dancer in at least one dance in our winter recital. There is no additional cost if your dancer is cast in more than one dance. Following the Casting Call, you will receive an email with details on your dancer's casting placement including specific rehearsal times on the days listed above and appropriate attire for rehearsals and the performance.

  • Costumes: Dancers will not receive costumes for this recital. They will perform in their usual class attire and accessories will be added for each dance to create a unique and fun look (think: tutus, antlers, ear muffs and more!). Accessories will remain with the studio to be used year after year. Specific details about the appropriate class attire will be released to each specific dance group after the Casting Call.

  • Preparing for Recital: Teachers will choose accessories and songs in August, to be revealed after the casting call. Students will work during Saturday rehearsals from October to December to master the steps for each of their dances so attendance is extremely important. Dancers must be in attendance at five of the six rehearsals in order to participate in recital.

  • Dress Rehearsal: The day of the show, all students will be required to participate in mandatory dress rehearsal before the actual recital. Dancers will wear their assigned class apparel and stage makeup.

  • Recital Day: For recital, students will be expected to arrive in their assigned class apparel with stage makeup already applied and hair in place. Students will be given a curtain call time approximately 30 minutes before the show and need to arrive promptly. All dancers will be required to stay for the ENTIRE show and will be released after the final bow.
