Cathedral Parish School Dance Program

We have a partnership to provide dance instruction for Cathedral Parish School (CPS) for grades K-3.

 

Our dance classes are an alternative to participating in standard PE. At PE time on Thursdays, the dancers report to a different area to participate in dance instruction instead of traditional PE instruction for one of their PE lessons each week.

Students will learn jazz and contemporary terms and fundamental dance technique. Dancers will learn
turns, leaps and many combinations of traditional jazz and contemporary steps. Jazz is an upbeat dance
style known for entertainment and contemporary is a style known for expressive movement that
conveys strong emotions.
